Unfortunately Kajagoogoos' scheduled appearance at the ALIVE AND KICKING FESTIVAL (Usk) on July 23rd 2005 has been cancelled along with the entire event.

Nick will be playing along side Steve Askew in the backing band for Industrial Salt when they travel to Japan later this year. Performing Live at the Nano Mungen Fest in Yokahama will be the bands first appearance since the completion of their debut album, ‘A pocket full of magnetic letters.’ Also on the bill are Asian Kung-Fu generation and Ash.

In April Nick will be appearing on the Radio 2 comedy show, ‘JAMIN’ with Richard Vranch and Roland Rivron.

Industrial Salt, Nick and Steve's band project is developing stedily. The plan is to get it ready for showcasing to record companies some time in May. The stuff sounds like a cross between Blondie and Garbage.

Nick will be acting as Musical Director for Toyah Wilcox when she plays at LA2 (The London Astoria) as part of her 25th Anniversary concert band. Nick will be playing "Virtual Stick".

Nick was invited to perform at the 5th ARDS GUITAR FESTIVAL in Newtonards Northern Ireland and played a one hour Chapman Stick recital to a warm and welcoming crowd.

Howard Jone's new CD, Perform.00, which was released 2 days ago is CD of the week on Bayern3, biggest public radio station in Bavaria!

The album will be called 'PERFORM.00' and will be released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on the 10th of July.

The album which will contain 14 tracks will be Howard's second release on Seven Days Music. Seven Days Music also released the critically acclaimed 'People' album which they had a great deal of success with.

The album is a response to the question that must have been asked by nearly everyone who met Howard on his recent tours "Where can I get a CD of the set I heard tonight?". Having been asked this question so many times Howard decided to respond by recording the new album. The album contains re-recordings of many of Howard's hits in the style in which they are played live, as well as a few new songs.

The album features Howard's band consisting of Nick Beggs, Robin Boult and Kevin Wilkinson. The album is sadly the last recording to feature Kevin Wilkinson on drums. The album also features a brass section featuring Fayyaz Virgi, Chris Store and Chris De Margary. The album has been mixed by Stephen W Tayler and produced by Howard. The artwork for PERFORM.00 has been designed by Howard and his artwork team Steg and Ian.

A special limited edition of the album will also be released. This will feature 20 tracks and will be called 'pefawm'. This double album will be released by Seven Days Music and is distributed via BMG. For more details please check the official Howard Jones website.

CHAPMAN STICK PERFORMANCE - LONDON

Nick will be performing on Wednesday 17th May at The Troubadour Coffee House, 265 Old Bromptom Road, London SW5.

He'll be performing two sets of music written to promote his recent exhibition of paintings and drawings in Finland.

'Coffee House of the Year 1999' and one of London's most original music venues. The intimate surroundings of the Troubadour, which dates back to the late '50s and is still in it's original condition, have seen decades of creativity, since the days when Dylan used to attend poetry readings there and strum his guitar. The Troubadour continues to reflect it's name, hosting gigs by wandering musicians with a story to tell. Good food and drink can be bought at the bar.

Directions are 10 minutes walk from Earl's Court Tube. Turn right out of the EARLS COURT ROAD EXIT. Walk until you reach Old Brompton Road, with O'Neills Pub on the corner on your right. Turn right down Old Brompton Road on the south side of the street, i.e. cross the road. Just past Starbucks and after crossing Coleherne Road, the Troubadour is on your left.

On April 29th Nick will be performing a recital of his latest material to an invited audience of family, friends and colleagues. The performance will be a precursor to that which is to be performed in Finland during the following week.

The material is all brand new with Nick pushing his abilities to new levels of skill and diversification. Titles include "Tonto", "Glass Slippers", "Tava", "Robo Slob" and "Death by Cleavage" among others. The music draws on new techniques that Nick developed whilst playing with John Paul Jones last year.

The performance will comprise of two, forty-five minute sets with Nick on his latest Chapman Stick. Sound engineering will be supplied by Steve Askew and Ken Tidy.

It is intended that the material will be released on a solo album by Nick later in the year entitled "Stick Insect".

25th APRIL

On April 25th 2000 until May 13th I will make my first one man exhibition of paintings and drawings which will take place at "Metso" the main public library in Tampere Finland. The official opening will take place at 6pm on 4th May at "Metso", Pirkankatu 2, PL 152, FIN-33101. Phone +358 3 314614. I am very grateful to the Finland Cultural atachey for this personal invite and look forward to the event immensely.

The exhibition will mainly consist of my sketch books which have travelled with me on tours around the world. There will also be water colours painted specially for the show available.

To promote this event I shall also perform a solo concert of Chapman stick music at Tullikamarin Klubi, Tullikamarinaukio 2, Fin-33100 Tampere. Phone +358331466954. The stick show will be a precursor to a solo LP which I hope to release some time during 2000. It will be the accumulation of ideas as of yet unheard or performed live.
