WRITING
I'm rather excited about a new project I've been writing for with my old buddy from KAJAGOOGOO Steve Askew. Earlier this year (2003) we discovered two young 16 year old singer song writers in our own town of Leighton Buzzard. The plan is to write and record demos with them and then put a short set together and perform the pieces live. I'll keep you up to date with developments.

I have also started the recording of my second solo Stick LP. I've changed the mood and working title of this record three times already because of the constantly changing style of the music I'm recording.
Possible titles so far are: ZOMBIE CACTUS, WILLOW and JAZZ ENEMA.
All will be revealed soon-ish.

I did some arranging of string parts for a few of my Chapman Stick pieces.  One is named after my daughter "Lula" and you can hear this and many other titles on my new CD "STICK INSECT" For details contact information@nickbeggs.co.uk

As well as production work, I wrote a couple of songs for the Japanese singer, "Cozi".  LOVE SONG IN BABYLON and CRAZY FOR LOVING YOU.  It's a very strange feeling to hear your lyrics translated into Japanese.  The funny part is to slave over the words and then hear them in a different language, she could have been signing anything.  It's not the first time I wrote for a Japanese artist, in 1986 I wrote a song for a domestic singer known as "Minako Honda".  She's went on to become a movie star.

Songs can come at the strangest times, that's why I carry a Dictaphone around all the time and get most of my ideas when I'm driving.

I have various writing projects on the go at all times and am working hard at trying to crack the code of another global number one.
