„Soundi" 5/2000

Now is the chance to admire live one of the gurus of the Stick area, because the British Nick Beggs arrives in Finland to perform his art.

Beggs, who impressed already at his Kajagoogoo time on bass, became a global master of the Stick. He played the Stick for example on recordings for Steve Howe and Warren Cuccurullo. The now taking place concert on the 5th of May, in Tampere's Tulliklubi will be also for Beggs a historical moment: the man's international first night as a Chapmanstick solist.

So come and witness how to rule with ten or at least 8 fingers bass- and melodypart at the same time. Watch how one man is able to get out of his instrument not only a bass and harmonyworld, but on on top of it even the leadpart! Listen to this really legendary something else!

The right feeling you can get also in the exhibition in Tampere's Main Library from the 25th of April until 13th of May. The exhibition shows Nick Beggs' paintings and drawings, legendary costume parts and other memorable items of the past years!
