The bulk of Nicks’ time has been spent working on the Industrial Salt album, ‘A pocket full of magnetic letters’ which will be released in Japan this summer. The first single ‘Sugar Bomb Baby’ will be synced to a video, which will be filmed during March.

Nick and his fellow Kajagoogoo mate Steve Askew will join the band on stage this July when they play the Nano Mungen Fest in Yokohama Japan. Others on the bill are Asian Kung-fu Generation and Ash.

www.industrialsalt.com will be up and running shortly.

Kajagoogoo are to release their first new track in over 18 years. The song written by Steve, Stuart & Nick will be included in a compilation of news songs written by various 80s artists such as Go West, Heaven 17, Howard Jones and Midge Ure.

Keep an eye on this site for more details.

Nick has been invited to work with Armin Van Buuren the Dutch D.J. on a new track. More details on this later.

Nick will be featured in the new Howard Jones DVD of the 25 year anniversary concert to be released in 2005.

Last autumn Nick had the pleasure of recording with Engelbert Humperdinck on his 75 th album, ‘Let there be love.’ The record has just been released on Decca, Engelberts’ original label. “It was one of the best sessions I’ve ever been involved with,” said Nick.

During the summer 2004 Nick rehearsed with Brilliant Greens’ guitarist Ryo Matsui for a live show at the Verge in London.

25 Years of Trevor Horn

The Trevor Horn gig was one of the highlights of the year, as Nick joined ABC live on stage for a 3 song set at Wembley, in front of HRH Prince Charles. Seal, Grace Jones, Yes, The Pet Shop Boys & Frankie Goes to Hollywood also performed at the show which has been recorded by the BBC to be shown on TV at a later date.

Pop Bitch

Anyone who receives the Pop Bitch news letter, will have seen a rather interesting bit of news last week concerning Kajagoogoo, and Dan Bryan from Big Brother 5.

I can confirm that it is true. For those of you who haven't a clue what I'm on about, here is the piece of news Pop Bitch ran last week...........

Kajagoogoo II
Will Dan be too shy?

George Bush's shadow looms across the world again, and the terrorists are preparing to behead us all. Popbitch is ready to retreat to
its bunker for the next four years. But there is one small piece of good news: Nick Beggs is attempting to follow the lead of Duran Duran and Frankie, and reform Kajagoogoo. Negotiations with Limahl are not going well so all he needs is a new singer. Following the Frankie auditions, Nick's keen on Dan from BB5. (Dan, email us...)

Within 24 hours we had heard from Dan's manager, and arranged to meet up with him backstage at the Trevor Horn gig. This week Pop Bitch ran the following.......

Kaja update: Dan BB5's manager is in talks with Nick Beggs, so we're quietly hopeful that a new Kajagoogoo 2 will emerge. Watch out, though, Nick, a friend of Dan claims, "When Dan sings he gets all serious. He once hit someone for butting in to his song."

Nick met up with Dan at the gig, and the 2 got on really well. They talked about the possibilities of working together in the future, and will resume talks upon his return from a long over due holiday. We'll keep you posted.

Back Catalogue

After a very successful meeting with EMI last week, we are pleased to announce that the following albums are to be re-mastered and re-released with bonus tracks; White Feathers, Islands and Crazy Peoples Right To Speak. Nick has even been invited to sit in on the re-mastering at Abbey Road studios.

We are hoping for a late June, early July release and the CD’s will be available to buy through this site and also www.kajagoogoo.com.

We are also looking into producing a Kajagoogoo DVD. EMI have a fantastic archive of video and concert footage, along with some Top of The Pops performances and interviews. This will be a costly process; therefore we will gauge opinion to see if there is enough interest.

Industrial Salt

The band that Nick and Steve are working with, have received interest from record companies in the UK and Japan. We’re very excited about their prospects. They made their first appearance in the Leighton Buzzard local press this week.

Merchandise

We have a new merchandise page where you can see exactly what we have for sale and how to order. We currently do not have a secure shopping cart system, however we do take payment via mail order or PayPal, which we have found to be a safe and easy route to paying for your goods.

Updates to the site

Check out the photo gallery for new pictures of Nick.

In press releases and media archive, we’ve added the OK magazine article that Nick and his family were featured in. Also a review of Maverick Helmsman’ by the one and only Emmett Chapman.

Radio Interview
Just a short note, to let you know that Nick will be doing an interview on a Canadian radio show called the 'Mitch Minute', as yet we are unsure when it will be broadcast, but it will either be Friday 12th March or Friday 19th March, between 6 & 10om Eastern Time.

If you go to the web site at http://www.majic100.fm/home/index.asp you will be able to listen to a live stream. It requires you to have broadband
though.

Nick will be talking about the new band 'Industrial Salt' that both he and Steve Askew have been working with, and they will be playing a couple of the bands newly finished tracks.

DVD Releases
A lot of you have been asking if there are any Kajagoogoo DVD's in the pipeline. As far as we know there is nothing coming through EMI, but we are talking about putting something together ourselves. I'll keep you posted.

Back Catalogue
The Kajagoogoo back catalogue is currently unavailable on CD, but I have been in contact with EMI (UK) and after much badgering from us, (and lots of you sending e-mails to them) we seem to be making a little progress.

White Feathers, Islands & Crazy People's Right To Speak are being re-mastered, with a view to re-releasing them. There is nothing in concrete yet, but it's a good start. I've been told they are going to see what the reaction to the Vh1 show is like
before they make any decision.

There's nothing like a bit of people power, so to all of you in the USA, start hassling Capitol records and let's see what happens.

March 3rd 2004 Great news for fans in the UK. It has been confirmed today that The Bands Reunited series will start on Monday 29th March with the Kajagoogoo episode, this will be followed by A Flock of Seagulls, Squeeze, Belin and finally Frankie goes to Hollywood.
March 2nd 2004

Finally!! News for British (and Irish) viewers VH1 in the UK have bought the series from their American counterparts and will be showing it THIS MONTH! (March 2004)

They have not bought the entire series - just the episodes with the Brit bands, such as Kajagoogoo, A Flock Of Seagulls, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Squeeze (not sure if The Alarm will be on as well, but should think so.)

We still don't know exact dates for when the series or the Kajagoogoo episode will air. Keep a watch on this website or subscribe to the Mailing List to receive updates.

Sunday 13th March sees a Bands Reunited marathon on Vh-1 in the USA. The Kajagoogoo episode kicks things off at 12 midday eastern time.

Message From Nick 1st March 2004

Steve, Stu and I are very grateful for all the encouragement and good wishes we’ve been receiving through the web site and the Vh-1.com message boards. Our wives have all really enjoyed corresponding with you too.

There have been so many messages and CD orders, that we have a bit of a backlog to clear. I know you will understand if we take longer than usual to get back to you.

I’m sure you will all be interested to hear that KAJAGOOGOO is reforming to write and record a new album. Unfortunately, this will not include Limahl & Jez. We have invited them a number of times, most recently last week, but they have declined our offer.

It’s looking likely that we will also tour America during the Summer. I’ll let you know details as soon as they are confirmed.

Many Thanks,
Nick

January 26th 2004

The VH-1 Bands reunited show featuring Kajagoogoo will be broadcast in the States today. I'm sorry but I don't know when the European broadcast will be.

The other news is my second solo Stick record is ready. It's titled The Maverick Helmsman and can be ordered through this site if you go to unreleased material.

Also Steve Askew and I are working hard on our Industrial Salt project. Record companies are being approached as we speak and we expect to be demoralized and dejected at how hard it is to get any kind of record company commitment in this day and age, by lunch time. More on this later.

My next article for Bass Guitar Magazine will be a cover feature of an article I did with Robert Trujillo from Metalica. The interview was conducted last December during the band's British tour.

Three of my drawing are to be exhibited at the South by South West music fare in Austin, Texas this March.

October 16th 2003

Dear All
There have been a few things that have phased me over the past years but none quite so much as the ambush I was caught in yesterday.

On my drive whilst parking my car, a VH-1 crew of some 20 people caught me off guard live on camera with the question, "Will you join together with your old band mates for a one off exclusive Kajagoogoo concert as part of a VH-1 hour long special on the band?"

On realising Jez and Limahl had already signed up to the idea it took me a few seconds to agree. So it is my pleasure to invite you all to the show that will take place on Sunday 26th Oct at a venue to be arranged. The all original 5 piece band will be playing three songs live in front of an invited audience of family, fans and friends, which will be filmed for VH-1s new series being launched in the new year.

I said I would never have more children, re-marry or reform Kajagoogoo and now look at me.

Best Beggion

PS Please don't tell any one about this as it's all very hush hush, eye to eye!
