1994 - 1996  BELINDA CARLISLE
I was Music Director for the German pop band Alphaville when I got the offer to play bass for Belinda.  The idea was to form a new London band, tour and then record the record.  The first incarnation of the group was:-

Simon Ellis - Keyboards
Steve Wren - Drums
Steve (Boltz) Bolton - Guitar
Rick Knowles - Rhythm, Guitar and backing vox
Shelly Preston and Catherine Woods - backing vox
and me on bass, Chapman stick and B vox.

It was a great little band.  During the first year we opened for Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Mike and the Mechanics, Paul Young, Zuccorro and Rod Stewart.

Simon Ellis then went off to be Musical Director for "East 17" and I was asked to step in as the new M.D.

It was November 1995 when the drummer and I were asked to fly to Malibu to record the L.P. "A Woman And A Man".  We ended making three trips back to finish the record in January and March 1996. It was probably one of the most rewarding times of my career.

More recently I've worked with Belinda again on the HERE AND NOW tour.
